Recent Legislative Milestones
Bill HB 3708 Support
Organized testimony and community support for HB 3708. This bill would have required certain nonprofit hospitals to screen patients for charity care eligibility and prohibited them from pursuing debt collection unless the patient was found ineligible. With the efforts of Dollar For, RAISE Texas, and LCMD, the bill was reported out of committee and sent to the House Calendars.
